This is my first portable DVD player. It sufficiently plays the DVD's. I do appreciate the fact that, like VHS tapes of yesteryear, when I power off the unit in the middle of a DVD, it picks up right where I left off. Sure wish the several I have had connected to my television did the same (vs. starting from square one).
The controls on the unit, particularly the volume control, are hard to get used to using. And, it would have been nice if the unit came with at least some type of protective carrying case. And I absolutely miss having a fast forward/backward and skip on the unit.
