I use this to play workout videos as I exercise, and for that it works great. Small footprint, clear picture, loud enough to hear the directions. I keep it plugged into the wall so battery use isn't a problem. I could see how trying to read subtitles on it might be a strain. I wear fingerless workout gloves when using it & even then don't find the controls hard to use at all.
